35th General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia is taking place in Da Nang (Vietnam) where President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach had a meeting with the board members of the International Committee of ‘Children of Asia’ Games.
The meeting was attended by President of International Committee of ‘Children of Asia’ Games Dmitry Glushko, Vice President Marat Bariev and CEO Vladimir Maksimov.
Dmitry Glushko thanked Thomas Bach for the patronage of the International Olympic Committee and its full support of the Games. The parties agreed that a more detailed report on 6th ‘Children of Asia’ Games will traditionally be held at the headquarters of the International Olympic Committee in Lausanne (Switzerland) before the end of the year.
As part of the negotiations, Deputy of the State Duma, a member of the Executive Committee of the Russian Olympic Committee, Vice President of ‘Children of Asia’ Sports Games Marat Bariev has made the point of the idea of holding ‘Children of Asia’ Winter International Sports Games in 2018. It is planned that the Winter Games will have at least 6 sports such as short track, ice hockey, biathlon, cross country skiing, etc. Today about 15 countries of Asia are ready to support the project.
Thomas Bach supported the idea of holding ‘Children of Asia’ Winter Games and said that such competitions will be in demand in the Asian continent.
