Yakutia will receive funding for development of Arctic tourism

The state plans to allocate funds for the development of Arctic tourism in the framework of the federal target program "Development of inbound and outbound tourism in the Russian Federation for 2019-2025." A promising tourist destination "Russian Arctic" will unite the potential of Yakutia, Arkhangelsk, Murmansk regions, the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, and Krasnoyarsk Krai.

Chairman of the Government of the Republic Evgeny Chekin outlined the main guidelines for the industry development in the region at the meeting of the Coordinating Council for Tourism. According to him, the main task should be to increase the number of foreign tourists and guests from other regions of Russia who want to visit Yakutia.

The list of tourist routes of Yakutia is supplemented with a new original trip - the administration of the Myrninsky district developed a tour route on the history of the "diamond track," TASS reports. The tour route includes the natural park Living Diamonds of Yakutia, Holy Trinity Cathedral, D.I. Savrasov Kimberlites Museum, MIR quarry and other sights of the diamond region.
