The analytical agency TourStat identified the most popular natural objects among tourists - national parks and reserves of Russia - which are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The ‘Lena Pillars’ Nature Park takes 5th place in this rating.
The first place is occupied by Lake Baikal (Irkutsk Region and Buryatia), then – ‘Golden Mountains of Altai’ (Altai), the third place was given to the Western Caucasus (Krasnodar Territory, Adygea and Karachay-Cherkessia), the fourth place – ‘Volcanoes of Kamchatka’ (Kamchatka), and the fifth - the ‘Lena Pillars’ Natural Park located in Yakutia.
The ‘Lena Pillars’ Natural Park, which is visited by 15 thousand tourists in the summer season, consists of unique rock formations up to 100 meters high, located along the banks of the Lena River in the central part of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The ‘Lena Pillars’ Natural Park was included in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 2012.
