Arm yourself with a GPS-navigator, and a certain amount of drinking water, and, as previously mentioned, warm clothes, and go! - Conquer the North!
- Lena Delta Wildlife Reserve, located in the northwest of the village of Tiksi, attracts tourists from all over the world for its unique tour programs; also from November to January you have the chance to see the Northern Lights. And at the end of the summer you can see the coast and offshore islands, see the Laptev walrus, seal, narwhal, northern birds and other animals.
- Tit-Ary Island, located in the area. Main point of interest of the island - a cemetery of former political prisoners and special settlers. This mystical place keeps a lot of tragic stories related to the fact that during the Second World War, the majority of Europeans (Germans, Finns), citizens of the USSR (Lithuanians, Latvians) and the local population of Yakutia were displaced to the island. Here one can feel the presence of the paranormal.
You can reach the island from the regional center of Tiksi by car, cross-country vehicle and motorboat.
- Stolb Island is one of the most impressive monuments of Arctic nature. Age of the island is about 400 million years, and height - about 114 meters. In this sacred place there is a legend which tells that this island was created by a shaman on the grave of his daughter, who had fallen in battle with enemies. It is said that the spirit of the girl still continues to dwell on this island, and sometimes people can see it.
What dishes to taste:
- The locals will offer you fresh, freshly caught fish - broad whitefish, you can enjoy plenty of ‘stroganina’ frozen sliced fish.
