Vasily Egorov to head the boxing squad of Yakutia at All-Russian tournament

The leader of the Russian national team, world vice-champion Vasily Egorov will lead the team of Yakutia in the All-Russian class A boxing tournament in memory of Aleksandr Fedotov. The competition will be held on February 22-25 in the sports complex Dohsun.

All-Russian tournament in memory of the president of the Boxing Federation of Yakutia, the honored worker of the national economy of the republic Aleksandr Fedotov annually gathers the strongest boxers from various parts of the country in the capital of the region.

"Athletes from Magadan, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Buryatia, Krasnoyarsk, Khabarovsk Territory will come to the competition. The national team of Yakutia will be represented by about 50 strongest boxers, including two-time European champion Vasily Egorov. He will fight in the weight category up to 52 kg,” told Executive Director of the Boxing Federation of the republic Ivan Diodorov.

He noted that preliminary fights will start on February 22, the semi-final will be held on February 24, and the battles for gold - on February 25. The competition will be one of the preparatory stages for the Russian boxing championship, which will be held in October in Yakutsk.
