An emotional fan, who was mistaken for a real Yakut shaman, turned out to be the head of Verkhoyansk
Users of social networks admire the fan from Yakutia, who was most active in supporting Russian figure skater Alina Zagitova at the Olympics in Pyeongchang. A colorful man with a shamanic tambourine, tied himself with the flag of Yakutia, was very emotionally cheering for his compatriot. The Yakut fan, whom many on the Internet took as a real shaman, turned out to be the head of Verkhoyansk.
"I am a big fan of winter sports. When I was going to the Olympics in Sochi, I thought for a long time what to take with myself to support our athletes. The drums were forbidden in the stands, but they did not forbid the tambourines. I made myself a tambourine from genuine leather and went to Sochi. In Sochi, I started collecting autographs of celebrities on it. For example, Vitaly Mutko then signed as a minister of sports," said Evgeny Potapov.
The fan told that in Pyeongchang he managed something that did not work out in Sochi – he got an autograph of three-time Olympic champion in biathlon Martin Fourcade on his tambourine. "Back in 2014 I wanted to talk with him, to give a small souvenir and ask him to sign on a tambourine. It didn’t work out. But yesterday I met his brother Simon. We talked, and I told him that I dreamed of meeting with Martin. Simon took me to him. I gladly presented the gift, and the athlete signed on a tambourine," the head of Verkhoyansk is happy.
In addition to Fourcade new winners of the Olympic silver in team figure skating from Russia Ekaterina Bobrova and Dmitry Solovyov signed on an unusual musical instrument. And the signature of the Belarusian biathlete Daria Domracheva flaunts on a tambourine.
"Whose other autographs do I want to take? I'll see what happens. In the meantime, many are interested in my image; everyone is asking if I'm a real shaman and taking pictures with me. I plan to support our team until the end of the Olympics," the Yakut fan stressed.
Perhaps a shamanic tambourine helped Alina Zagitova win the free program.
Note that figure skater Aliza Zagitova won silver in the team tournament at the Olympics.
