Yakut boxers became the owners of eleven medals of the Far East championship among boys aged 17-18. Our republic won the first team place among the regions of the federal district.
The championship of the Far Eastern Federal District was held in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk on January 24-27. The team of the Republic of Sakha under the direction of coach Vasily Lisitsa was represented by 17 young boxers, most of whom have won the medals.
"Vitaly Struchkov (up to 52 kg), Nazar Andreev (up to 69 kg) and Anton Ashchuk (up to 91 kg) became titleholders of the championship. All of them will be included in the combined team of the Far East for participation in the championship of Russia, which will be held February 10-17 in Syktyvkar," Vasily Lisitsa told YSIA.
About hundred of the strongest boxers from Yakutia, Primorye, Magadan, Khabarovsk Territory, Sakhalin, Amur and Jewish Autonomous regions took part in the competitions. Athletes have identified the best in nine weight classes.
Bronze awards were won by Yakut boxers Valery-Talban Egorov, Aleksandr Isakov, Dostanbek Shangilov, Jan Alekseev, Eduard Bekhterev, Elmar Omarov, and Baymat Uluu Tumarbek.
"In general, our boxers won the first team place. We thank the athletes, coaches, judges, the federation of boxing and all who helped and supported us," the head coach of the team added.
The team of the Khabarovsk Territory won the second place, the representatives of the Sakhalin region got on the third place of the podium.
