Yakutians can work as volunteers at the World Cup 2018 in St. Petersburg: one match of one eighth finals, the semifinal and the match for the third place will be held at the St. Petersburg stadium Zenith Arena.
The administration of the northern capital is ready to organize a special selection of volunteers from the RS (Y) for the championship. This was reported by Chairman of the Committee on Youth Policy and Interaction with Public Organizations of the Administration of the Northern Capital, Renata Abdulina, at a meeting of the delegations of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and St. Petersburg, held within the framework of Days of Yakutia in the city on Neva.
"Given that St. Petersburg will host the World Cup, and Yakutia has a lot of experience in developing the volunteer movement, we propose to make a special selection of volunteers from the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). A necessary condition is the head-tohead selection, but for Yakutia, we are ready to make an exception and organize the selection in Skype-meeting format” Abdulina said.
Such a decision became possible thanks to the Agreement on trade-economic, scientific-technical, social and cultural cooperation signed by the head of Yakutia Egor Borisov and the St. Petersburg governor Georgy Poltavchenko five years ago.
Matches of the World Cup will be held June 14 - July 15, 2018 in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Saransk, Samara, Sochi, Rostov-on-Don, Kaliningrad, Nizhny Novgorod and Volgograd.
Teams from Australia, England, Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Germany, Denmark, Egypt, Iran, Iceland, Spain, Colombia, Costa Rica, Morocco, Mexico, Nigeria, Panama, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Serbia, Tunisia, Uruguay, France, Croatia, Switzerland, Sweden, South Korea and Japan will take part in the 2018 World Cup.
