Yakutia has been placed sixth on the human development rating among territorial subjects of the Russian Federation according to the data provided by the Russian Government Analytical Centre.
The life expectancy in the republic has increased up to 71 years (5 years ago it was estimated to be at 68 years). This is the best indicator in the Far Eastern Federal District at present.
A considerable reduction of mortality rate took place in the republic as well. Yakutia successfully maintains leadership in the Far Eastern Federal District according to the rate of natural increase. In 2016 the rate of natural increase in Yakutia made up to 7372 individuals (the average across the FEFD is 5431).
Yakutia is regularly included into top ten regions of the country in which the natural increase rate proceeds (8-9 place) and the high level of birth rate is noted (6-8 place).
The measures taken for improvement of birth rate, support of motherhood, improvement of quality of the provided medical services have allowed to lower infantile mortality indicators by 32%, the press service of the head and the government of Yakutia reports.
