October 20 in Moscow was held a working meeting between Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Egor Borisov and Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Russian Science Foundation Andrey Fursenko.
At the beginning of the conversation Egor Borisov thanked Andrey Fursenko for promoting initiatives of the Republic in the field of science and education, for his personal contribution to the socio-economic development of Yakutia and the Far East.
Egor Borisov noted that the leadership and the scientific community of the Republic attach great importance to comprehensive scientific expedition which is to be held in 2015 - 2020 to study the productive forces and the social sphere in the region.Today, this project supported by the Head of State, is under discussion in terms of determining the organizational and economic mechanisms, the detailed design of the research program.
On this basis, Egor Borisov put number of issues related to the sources and amounts of funding for research, including the possible fundraising through Russian Science Foundation.
Also there was talk of some of the content areas of the forthcoming expedition, the need to integrate research with the basic strategic documents of the country’s development.
