The Ministry of Education and Science considers changes in the educational standard for social studies, according to which students will study the traditions of the peoples of Russia.
This was reported by the head of the Federal Agency for Nationalities Igor Barinov.
Within the government hour in the State Duma, the deputy chairman of the Duma Education Committee, Boris Chernyshov (The Liberal Democratic Party of Russia), noted that there is no ethno-cultural component in the education system that could reduce the level of aggression between schoolchildren on a national basis.
"We initiated changes in the educational standard for social studies, it is submitted to the Ministry of Education and Science for approval. But we need to start with preschool education so that in each kindergarten children get knowledge about traditions, customs and culture of our country in a playful and accessible form," said Igor Barinov, according to the website of Il Tumen, citing "Parliamentary newspaper."
