In the Year of Ecology and Specially Protected Natural Territories of the Russian Federation, large business entities operating in the territory of Yakutia allocated 7.9 billion rubles from their own funds for environmental protection activities. This was stated by the Minister of Nature Protection of the Republic Sakhamin Afanasiev on Wednesday, December 27, at a briefing.
"Nature users began to seriously invest in environmental protection measures. In 2017, such companies as Gazprom dobycha Noyabrsk, Sakhatransneftegaz, Taas Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha and others financed environmental protection measures for 7.9 billion rubles,” said Sakhamin Afanasiev, noting that the funds spent on the construction of treatment facilities, sedimentation tanks, improving the system of waste disposal, improving emissions into the atmosphere and so on.
"We have developed a methodology that economic entities are required to adopt comprehensive programs for environmental protection. The mechanism of working with them will be further improved,” said the head of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Yakutia.
In addition, reducing the burden on the environment is facilitated by the activities of the state programs of the republic, as well as municipal targeted environmental programs, for which this year more than 180 million rubles have been allocated, reported the press service of the head and government of Yakutia.
