On April 20 the North-Eastern Federal University hosted the All-Russian research-to-practice Conference "Lebedev Readings" dedicated to the first Even scholar, dialectologist, folklorist and innovator of Even literature, Vasily Lebedev.
64 students, teachers and schoolchildren of the republic took part in the conference, the press service of the university reports.
"The event is held for the third time. This conference is organized with the aim of attracting students, undergraduates, graduate students to scientific and pedagogical activities in the field of ethnolinguistics, the languages of indigenous low-numbered peoples of the North, literature of the peoples of the North, the research of authentic culture of indigenous peoples of the Arctic,” says Antonina Vinokurova, head of the North Philology Department of the Institute of Languages and Culture of the Peoples of the North-East of Russia.
During the conference, the Egor Neimokhov’s scholarship was awarded to a third-year student of the Institute of Languages and Culture of the RF Northeast, Anna Amanatova. Egor Neimokhov was People's writer of Yakutia and a well-known screenwriter.
The conference was divided into four sections: Languages of Indigenous Minorities of the North and the Arctic; Folklore of Indigenous Minorities of the North and the Arctic; Literature of the Peoples of the North; Arctic Region Studies.
