Yakutia presented its projects at the Trade and Economic Fair that took place May 20-22 in Heihe, China. The delegation of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), headed by Yakutia's Permanent Representative to the Far Eastern Federal District Georgy Nikonov, included the heads and entrepreneurs of Neryungri, Oymyakon, Kobyai, Amga and Khangalass districts, reported the Yakutia Permanent Mission to the Far Eastern Federal District.
The Neryungri district presented the masters of the traditional Evenk arts and crafts, souvenirs, furs and jewelry from precious and semiprecious gem stones of Yakutia. Products of the Sakha Taas company were in great demand among visitors to the fair.
May 20, as part of the presentation of tourism projects of Russia and China, the tourist potential of Oymyakon and Kobyai districts was presented. On the same day, a protocol was signed between the Oymyakon district and the city of Heihe on the establishment of sister-city relations, providing for cooperation in all spheres.
The Chinese side expressed great interest in the touristic potential of the district. The parties agreed to start with organizing a trial tour in the near future. The government of Heihe City is considering the issue of opening a direct flight from Heihe to one of the Far Eastern cities, which will allow developing tourism in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
Another significant event of the visit was the signing of a protocol on the establishment of sister-city relations between the Kobyai district and the city of Beian. Head of the district Ignaty Spiridonov presented possible directions of bilateral cooperation. First of all, this is the development of fish production, coal processing, and tourism. The parties intend to develop cooperation in different areas.
