Chulman Airport could become international. The general director of the Kolmar Company, Sergei Tsivilev, spoke about such a perspective of the Neryungri airport, TASS reports.
"Chulman airport runway in Neryungri was built 40 years ago, but not the building. Now a separate project of the modern airport building is being implemented with reconstruction of the runway so that we can receive all types of aircraft. We will finance the design work to speed up the construction of the airport. It is planned to allocate about 25 million rubles, we will help in this part," said Tsivilev, adding that Chulman airport could become international.
Neryungri Airport is the only one of 17 airports in Yakutia, which currently does not have a reconstruction project. This problem is today under the scrutiny not only of municipal authorities, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev, general director of LLC Kolmar, Sergei Tsivilev and the management of the "Airports of the North" are joining to solve it. The issue was discussed in September 2017 in the framework of the Economic Forum in Vladivostok.
Earlier it became known that the Neryungri airport will receive financial means for reconstruction. The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation allocates them for these purposes in the budget for the period 2019-2021.
It is planned to reconstruct 40 airports in the Far East. In Yakutia, the funds will be received by the airports of Nyurba, Sangar, Deputatsky, Chersky, Olekminsk, Khandyga, Belaya Gora, Verkhnevilyuisk, Vilyuisk, Zyryanka, Magan, Ust-Nera, Zhigansk, Polyarny (Mirny district).
