The new deposit was discovered in 2016 by geologists of Neryungri-Metallik.
Neryungri-Metallik LLC gold mining company (part of Nordgold) received the first gold on the new deposit of Tyomnoe in Yakutia, Interfax was informed in the press service of the Company.
"Since the beginning of the development of the deposit (August of this year - Interfax) until September, more than 227 kg of gold was produced. The enterprise expects to conduct gold mining at this field for 3 years," said the press officer.
He recalled that in 2016, geologists of Neryungri-Metallik opened a new deposit, Tyomnoe, which is located near another deposit of the Company – Tabornoye, and occupies an area of 0.86 sq km. The balance reserves on the state accounting of minerals amount to 4.4 tons of gold (total reserves are estimated at 10.4 tons of gold) with an average content of about 1 gram per ton of ore. In August of this year, the Tyomnoe deposit was put into operation - ore mining and gold production.
