Yakutsk. 12 October. INTERFAX - FAR EAST - Turkish Ekşi group of companies is considering the possibility of building a hotel in Yakutsk worth $ 16.5 million.
"Mayor of Yakutsk Aisen Nikolaev and Hasan Ekşi, Director of the group of companies Ekşi signed a memorandum of intent on the implementation of the investment project "Construction of a hotel in the city of Yakutsk," the press service of the Yakutsk administration reports.
The report says that the memorandum was signed within the Days of Yakutia in Istanbul.
It is also noted that the group of companies Ekşi has successfully completed construction projects of varying degrees of complexity in Malaysia, United Arab Emirates, Nigeria, Russia, Saudi Arabia and other countries - from residential buildings and infrastructure to roads and bridges, airports, major defense facilities and housing and communal services.
In turn, the press secretary of the mayor of the city, Irina Efimova, told Interfax-Far East agency that the total amount of necessary investments is $ 16.5 million. The planned payback period is 5 years.
"Mayor of Yakutsk Aisen Nikolaev in his speech noted that in addition to projects that provide primary and vital needs of the city, the city authorities are also considering the development of the image and tourist potential of the city. The construction of the hotel complex is offered in connection with the annual growth in the number of guests and tourists in the city of Yakutsk," said Irina Efimova.
With reference to the report of Aisen Nikolaev, she noted that many major events, including international ones, are held annually in the city, while the city suffers an acute shortage of comfortable hotel rooms. Existing hotels can no longer fully meet the needs of tourists.
As for the implementation of the project of the hotel complex, now a land plot has been selected and fixed, a business plan and a financial model have been developed.
The complex is planned to be built on the territory of 0,7 hectares, the area of the building is 13 thousand square meters, the number of rooms is 215.
Construction is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2018, and finish in late 2019.
