Russian President Vladimir Putin contacted the Chayandinskoye field in Yakutia during a visit to the future gas processing plant of "Power of Siberia."

The head of state inspected the construction site of the Amur Gas Processing Plant on Thursday and gave a start to pouring the foundation for the construction of the complex, TASS reported. During the visit to the construction site, he inspected the design set of the "Power of Siberia" Gas Pipeline and the Amur Gas Processing Plant.

Gazprom CEO Aleksei Miller told the president in detail about the construction of the "Power of Siberia" and details of the Amur Gas Processing Plant project, noting in particular that the first two technological lines of the plant with a total capacity of 14 billion cubic meters of gas should be put into operation in May 2021. The aggregate capacity of the GPP after putting all six lines into operation will amount to 42 billion cubic meters.

The gas will flow from the Chayandinskoye field in Yakutia to the Amur GPP. As the head of Gazprom pointed out, this trunk pipeline will be put into operation on December 20, 2019. As for the Amur Gas Processing Plant, according to Miller, after the completion of its construction, the Far East of Russia and Eastern Siberia will receive a powerful impetus for further social and economic development.

Construction of the plant 15 km north of the town of Svobodny in the Amur Region kicked off in October 2015. The plant will be an important link in the technological chain of future supplies of natural gas to China via the "Power of Siberia" Gas Pipeline. Here, blue fuel will come from the Yakutsk and Irkutsk gas production centers, from which valuable components for the gas and chemical and other industries - ethane, propane, butane, pentane-hexane fraction - will be released. The GPP will also include the largest helium production in the world. The processed gas will be supplied to China.
