On July 16, Egor Borisov held a working meeting with a delegation of Japanese businessmen led by the Chairman of the board of Tokyo Rope Corporation, Mr. Shigeto Tanaka. The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in infrastructure and other projects.

Egor Borisov told about the investment potential of the republic and the basic infrastructure projects that may be of interest to Japanese business. "We are striving to build mutually beneficial relations with foreign partners. We have good experience of working with Japanese companies in energy, construction, agriculture, science," said IL Darkhan.

Mr. Shigeto Tanaka assured Egor Borisov of the seriousness of the intentions of Tokyo Rope in cooperation with the republic. He told about the 130-year history of the Company, which is the world leader in the production of high-tech steel ropes, cable-stayed bridges, metal cord for tires, and wire for solar energy: "For many years we have been successfully cooperating with Russian companies, developing business in your country. Next year our newest plant will start working in St. Petersburg. I hope that Tokyo Rope will be able to contribute to the development of the infrastructure of Yakutia. I have no doubt that other giants of Japanese business will follow us and come to the republic."

The project for the construction of a bridge across the Lena River was of particular interest to the Japanese delegation for understandable reasons. Tokyo Rope Corporation took part in the construction of 400 bridges, twenty of which are considered to be the largest projects in the world. For example, it supplied main carrier cables for the bridge to Russky Island in Vladivostok.

Egor Borisov said that he welcomes the development of relations between Yakutia and the Japanese company. "We will be happy to consider your proposals. When developing projects, it is important to take into account the specifics of the republic - the harsh climate, permafrost and other factors. I am sure that we will get new and interesting solutions from the Company with such a large production experience," he concluded.
