Japan has technologies, and Yakutia – resources

On July 12, a delegation from Japan visited the greenhouse complex Sayuri in Yakutsk, accompanied by representatives of the Department for External Relations of the republic and Chairman of the Board of JSCB Almazergienbank Lyudmila Nikolaeva. The delegation included Japanese MPs - Chairman of the Board of the Japan Committee for Assistance to the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Mr. Horii Manabu, Advisor to the Committee Mr. Aoyama Suhei, IA SakhaNews was informed by the press service of the AEB.

Worth noting that in the spring of 2016, the republican ‘Almazergienbank’ and the Japanese ‘Hokkaido Corporation’ signed an agreement of intentions, and then in the summer of the same year they began construction of the year-round hothouse complex Sayuri in the village of Syrdakh (‘Kangalassy’ Advanced Development Zone).

The project is implemented with the financial support of the Republic and the technological - the Japanese side, the coordinator is the Department for External Relations of the RS (Y). The greenhouse complex was tested by the Yakut frosts, it fully functions, and the first harvest was collected last winter. The average annual yield was 45 kg/sq m and surpassed the target figures.

Guests were told about the history of the project and further plans - the existing complex is only an experimental site. Next year, it is planned to build and launch a larger complex of greenhouse blocks, with a total area of three hectares, for growing cucumbers, tomatoes and greens. The Japanese guests positively assessed the state of affairs, showing their readiness to support in every possible way any initiatives of this kind in the future.

"I am pleased with the joint work that has been done so quickly, from the idea to the harvest. This project was born thanks to a united work of the Japanese and Yakut ministries, the administration of the city of Yakutsk and, of course, Almazergienbank. Most of all I'm happy because of delicious tomatoes!" said Mr. Horii Manabu.


Among the guests were also Mr. Doi Kenichi, President of Zen-ei Corporation (engaged in the production and sale of protection against seismic activity) and Mr. Kasahara Masamitsu, President of the company ‘Ekaterina’ (jewelry production). They are interested in another promising project, which is planned to be realized in the ‘Kangalassy’ Advanced Development Zone - a jewelry-granular cluster.

“In Japan, the production of not only agricultural, but also medical, town-planning, waste-processing equipment and other is highly developed. In Japan, there are technologies, and in Yakutia there are resources, and there is great potential for further joint projects and cooperation,” Mr. Horii Manabu shared with the press service of Almazergienbank.
