The initiation of Gold Miners’ Union of Yakutia non-profit organization will allow miners to defend their interests, attract investments and develop metal mining in the region, Mikhail Brook, General Director of Corporation for Development of Southern Yakutia, told TASS.
"The gold mining industry in Yakutia has a great potential for development, but it is necessary to form a medium for communication among gold miners in order to jointly defend interests in legislation and build relations with supervisory authorities and banks. This will allow us to successfully develop gold mining," – Mikhail Brook said.
According to him, on April 11 the Yakut city of Aldan will host a forum with participation of gold mining organizations, veterans of this industry, supervising ministries and departments. One of the forum's tasks will be the establishment of a non-profit organization, the Union of Gold Miners of Yakutia.
"The ultimate goal is the formation of a professional community that will allow to establish relations between gold miners and external contractors," – Mikhail Brook added.
Yakutia is one of the five leading regions of Russia for gold mining. The Corporation for the Development of Southern Yakutia was established to unite the interests of investors in the implementation of projects and provide them with state support for the integrated socio-economic development of the regions of Southern Yakutia, including Aldan, which is leading in gold mining in the republic.
