Yakutia and Kolmar Company to develop Elga coal deposit together with Japan

During the summarizing press conference, the head of the republic Egor Borisov answered the question about agreements with Japanese companies concluded following the visit of Russian official delegation to the Land of the Rising Sun.

IL Darkhan noted that out of more than 80 agreements signed within the framework of the large conference on the occasion of the visit of the Russian delegation, 6 agreements are directly focused on Yakutia. "The agreements concern energy issues. In particular, the government of the republic and Kolmar Company signed a memorandum on cooperation between the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan to develop Elga coal mining complex,"- Egor Borisov said.

Head of the republic mentioned the plans of RusHydro and NEDO companies to install wind farms near the village of Tiksi. He told reporters that the talks were held on support and consultancy of the Japanese companies for the installation of gas turbine stations at the facilities of Vilyuysky region.

"The specific amounts for this project are not indicated yet, but it is to be fully implemented. Moreover, the Japanese side has a serious interest in it," - said Borisov.

According to him, an agreement of understanding has been reached with Ernst & Young Co. Advisory Co., Ltd on the preparation of further detailed feasibility studies for the project of cogeneration on the territory Vilyuysky region. In addition, JSC YATEC concluded an agreement on cooperation in the energy sector with Kawasaki Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. and Sojitz Corporation.
