On March 30, St. Petersburg International Education Forum hosted a working meeting between the representatives of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) and CEO of the Presidential Library (St. Petersburg) Aleksandr Vershinin.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Education of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) V.A. Egorov, Deputy Permanent Representative to the President of the Russian Federation Yu.N. Kravtsov, General Director of the Presidential Library A.P. Vershinin and Acting Director for External Relations of the Library A.A.Vorobyov.
The meeting discussed proposals to expand the areas of cooperation between the Presidential Library and the republic. In particular, Aleksandr Vershinin suggested the establishment of a regional center that will coordinate the work of new and existing projects, such as centers for remote access to the resources of the country's largest electronic national library.
On behalf of the Government of the Republic, Vladimir Egorov thanked the leadership of the Presidential Library for organizing the meeting and made a proposal for information placing in the library and interactive support of the major educational project International Intellectual Games ‘Youth of Asia’ that will be held under the auspices of UNESCO in Yakutsk this summer.
A special interest of the library management was caused by the historical album Ways of Great Achievements. The value of Yakutia in the development of the Far East, donated on behalf of the republic's leadership. Aleksandr Vershinin noted the quality of the album and its content, and also inquired about the possibility of placing the electronic version of the album in electronic catalogs of the library for wider access, of course, following all the nuances of copyright.
