Ikebana, origami, calligraphy, tea ceremony presentation, cosplay competition, performance of Japanese artists in Yakutsk
YAKUTSK, March 21. / TASS /. The festival of Japanese culture Matsuri will be held in Yakutsk on May 22-23 with the support of the General Consulate of Japan in Khabarovsk. This was reported by the head of the Department for External Relations of Yakutia Vladimir Vasiliev on Wednesday.
"The initiator is the Japanese side, we supported this idea. In the framework of the festival it is planned to hold ikebana, origami, calligraphy workshops, presentation of the tea ceremony. The performance of Japanese artists, a cosplay contest, a tasting of dishes from a Japanese chef, Japanese Film Festival are expected," Vasiliev said.
He noted that the parties reached agreements on holding the festival during the visit to the republic of the delegation of the Consulate General of Japan in Khabarovsk composed of Vice-Consul for Culture and Education Eiko Matsumoto and Consul for Security Yuki Konno in early March.
In particular, during the visit, the parties discussed the main areas of cooperation between the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and Japan. Among already implemented projects involving Japanese investors - the construction of a greenhouse complex Sayuri, a wind plant in the north of the republic. In addition, there is interregional interaction in the field of education, science, personnel training, new information technologies.
