Yakutsk is hosting the International Music Festival 'Eurasia. Dialogue. Classics' with participation of 17 musicians of South Korea.
The opening of the International Music Festival took place in the concert hall of the Yakutsk Children's Art School. The head of the department for creative work of Higher School of Music the Republic Sergey Chigirev commented on the program of events: "The festival movement is gaining momentum. Usually it is devoted to the works of one composer or one musical trend. A special feature of ‘Eurasia. Dialogue. Classics’ Festival will be a variety of master classes, as well as the performance of Korean composers' music."
Famous music teachers and their pupils, opera soloist, violinist, composers and other creative figures came from the Republic of Korea.
The opening concert included the music of Carl Maria von Weber, Ludwig van Beethoven and Korean composer So Yong Jin. She is a professor at the Busan National University and is also a member of the SEUM composer group. The audience enjoyed her composition "Humoresque" at the opening concert.
‘Eurasia. Dialogue. Classics’ International Music Festival takes place in Yakutsk from February 19 to March 2. The program of the festival includes concerts with participation of artists from the Republic of Korea, choir ensembles of the republic, a concert of teachers of the Higher School of Music, master classes of teachers of the educational center Bashmet Center, creative workshops Molot (Moscow), contests and a performance.
