The Wind Farm Construction in the North of Yakutia to Be Finished in 2020

The Arctic wind farm with a total power of 900 kW in the north of Yakutia will be built in 2020, as reported by the unified informational portal in the Far East with reference to the press service of the government of the republic.


In the Tiksi settlement of the Bulunsky ulus construction of the wind farm has begun. The project is realized by the government of Yakutia and PJSC RusHydro along with the Japanese New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO).

The Japanese company will provide the equipment for the object. By fall of 2018 the experts will establish three wind power installations with a single power of 300 kW. The complete construction is planned to finish in 2020.

Earlier it was reported that NEDO is aimed at expansion of tests in the field of wind power in severe climatic conditions of Yakutia. On the first WEF in 2015 the memorandum between PJSC RAO Energy Systems of East, the Sakha Republic and the Japanese company KOMAIHALTEC Inc. - the partner of NEDO has been signed.
