This week, Internet users were actively discussing a rumor that the star of "Batman vs. Superman" Jesse Eisenberg has recently visited Yakutsk. The Hollywood actor has mentioned in one interview that he visited Yakutsk and was deeply impressed by snow drifts. This rumor was not confirmed but YSIA decided to recall the visits of international celebrities that really took place in the recent past.
I. The star of blockbusters and independent films, one of the most sought-after contemporary actors Tom Hardy visited the republic in 2012 within the project of Discovery Channel, “Journey to the Extreme.” Together with another celebrity - Formula-1 racer Mika Salo - he made a car trip to the Pole of Cold in Oymyakon.
In Yakutsk, Tom Hardy met with fans and watched "This Means War" with them, then left for Oymyakon. Along the way, he bathed in ice-hole, competed in hapsagay with wrestlers of Churapcha and was struck by street outhouses.

Unlike Tom Hardy who was traveling on this road in the winter, McGregor's team crossed this route with great difficulties in the early summer, when many areas were washed away by floods. And all this took place over a decade ago, when the road was in extremely neglected condition.
The arrival of the actor passed almost unnoticed, many residents of the republic learned about it only from the television movie based on the results of the world tour.
Ewan McGregor has starred in many films but most of all he is known for his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the second trilogy of Star Wars. Other famous movies of Ewan McGregor: Trainspotting, The Pillow Book, Moulin Rouge, Big Fish, Down with Love, The Island, I Love You Phillip Morris.

Officially, the visit to this region was associated with interest of Mr. Seagal in gold mining companies of the region. However, there were rumors that the actor was looking for his origins in Yakutia. According to Seagal, his paternal grandfather came from Russia. As a child, the future actor was told that his ancestor who emigrated from Russia was "Mongol." But it is unknown who he really was - Mongol, Kalmyk or Buryat. A family photograph shows a man with slanting eyes.
Perhaps because of this the actor did not limit himself to formal meetings, and asked to go to an ordinary Yakut village. The choice fell on Arylakh. There Seagal acquainted with traditional Yakut ceremonies, talked about the history of the Sakha people. The actor not only watched the theatrical performance, but he himself tried to perform osuokhay, Yakut traditional dance. The guest was offered to taste the dishes of national cuisine and to drink koumys made of mare's milk, which he liked.
