Meet Yakutia!

Video about Yakutia
The Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is the largest region of Russia. It covers an area of 3 million sq km, almost one-sixth of the whole of Russia. There are three time zones in its territory.

The nature of the region is also varied. If in the southern part of the republic there are trees and plants, endemic throughout central Russia, in the Far North there are practically no trees but dwarf, a maximum height of which can reach 2 meters. As if dividing the whole republic in half the Lena River flows through its territory, one of the largest rivers in the world. Other major rivers are considered Viluy, Aldan, Indigirka, Yana, and Kolyma.

Natural and climatic conditions are a separate topic. Almost the entire territory of Yakutia is permafrost, a layer of ice in some places reaches up to several hundred meters. Even in summer the earth does not thaw. The temperature difference is 100 degrees due to sharply continental climate. In winter the temperature drops to mind-blowing -60 degrees Celsius, and in summer can rise up to +40.

All this is beautiful Yakutia, full of wonders and mysteries...
