The Administrative Director of the Japanese Committee for Assistance to Yakutia thanks the Government of the Republic

The First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Republic, Aleksei Kolodeznikov, with the Administrative Director of the Japanese Committee for Assistance to the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Mr. Satomura Akio, on March 20, discussed joint projects of Yakutia and Japan, in particular, the construction of a wind plant in the village of Tiksi.

Aleksei Kolodeznikov, on behalf of the government of Yakutia, expressed his gratitude to Satomura Akio for assisting in the joint work of the Republic and Japan and handed him a letter of gratitude signed by the region's Prime Minister Evgeny Chekin.

During the conversation, the parties discussed joint projects of Yakutia and Japan, in particular, the construction of a wind-diesel power plant in Tiksi, three 300 kW wind turbines and other equipment that the Japanese NEDO Company will provide free of charge.

At the end of February this year the head of Yakutia Egor Borisov, the Chairman of the Board - General Director of RusHydro PJSC Nikolai Shulginov, the Executive Director of the Organization for the Development of New Energy and Industrial Technologies (NEDO) Takashi Omote, the Executive Director of Takaoka Toko Fukuo Aoyagi and the General Director of PJSC Yakutskenergo Aleksandr Sloik signed a memorandum of cooperation, which legally fixed the obligation of all parties to fulfill their obligations under this project.

The first Vice-Premier of Yakutia also voiced the republic's interest in cooperation with Japan in equipping the Cancer Center, which is under construction in the capital of the republic, with the most modern medical equipment, as well as training of Yakut doctors.

Mr. Satomura Akio thanked the government of the republic for active cooperation and noted that the issues on joint work will be considered when returning to Japan. He said that during his visit to the republic a number of working meetings were held at the ministries and departments. Also, the Administrative Director of the Japanese Committee for Assistance to Yakutia noted that they conducted a marketing study in terms of the availability of Japanese goods in the trade market of the republic to work in this direction, according to the press service of the head and government of the region.
